Mount Batur, Bali, Indonesia!
Another adventure from Bali. I went with some friends of mine, both local and international, to drive our scooters to Mt Batur. Mt Batur is the the 2nd highest mountain in Bali and is a very popular half day trek for tourists. We didn't trek it, though. We camped overnight next to it. We brought camping supplies with us and drove to a local farmer's place and set up our camp. Mt Batur is a smaller active volcano that sits inside a much larger inactive volcano. We were camping inside the larger one with a perfect view of Batur.
Getting to know the locals in the country you are visiting opens up opportunities like this that no tourist could ever know about.
